California joins Powerball in April 2013

After watching the Powerball ticket selling mania sweep across the country last month, California has finally decided to get in the action.

Beginning next April, California will become the 43rd state to joint the Powerball lottery. Altogether, this will make a total of 45 locations (including the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands) where the game is sold.

Ticket sales will begin on April 8, 2013 and the first California Powerball drawing will be April 10, 2013.

California had considered joining the Powerball game earlier, but when the ticket prices were raised to $2, The Golden State delayed its plans until now.
